AFMS officers scripts history at World Medical & Health Games

Four Armed Forces Medical Service (AFMS) officers won 32 medals including 19 Gold at the 43rd World Medical & Health Games.

The 43rd edition of World Medical & Health Games, regarded as Olympic Games for Health Professionals, was organised at Saint-Tropez, France.

The break-up of the winning medals and participants details are mentioned below,

Lt. Col. Sanjeev Malik, VSM – 05 Gold Medals
(Above 35 yrs Male Category)
Events: 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, Cross Country and 4x100m Relay

Maj. Anish George – 04 Gold, 06 Silver, 02 Bronze Medals
(Above 35 yrs Male Category)
Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, Javelin, Shotput, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw and Power Lifting

Capt. Stephen Sebastin – 06 Gold Medals
(Above 35 yrs Male Category)
Events: 100m, 200m, 400m, Long Jump, Hammer Throw and 4x100m Relay

Capt. Dania James – 04 Gold, 03 Silver, 02 Bronze Medals
(Above 35 yrs Female Category)
Events: 100m, 200m, 4×100 Relay, Javelin, Discus Throw, Shot Put, Badminton Solo, Badminton Doubles and Powerlifting

The Armed Force Medical Services (AFMS) is an inter services organisation under the Ministry of Defense covering the Indian Armed Forces.
The AFMS consists of Army Medical Corps (AMC) including AMC (NT), Army Dental Corps (AD Corps) and Military Nursing Service (MNS)
