The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) issued summons to Netflix over alleged availability of explicit content on Netflix and its accessibility to minors.
NCPCR has said in its summons that “unrestricted accessibility of explicit content” on Netflix to minors constitutes a violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act-2012.
It has asked the Vice President, Content and Policy Head of Netflix India to appear before the Commission on 29th July in person in context to these summons issued.
