In response to the various fatal activities witnessed across the State; Gujarat Govt. has published the Gujarat Amusement Rides and Gaming Zone Activities (Safety) Rules 2024.
These Draft Rules mandate the formation of a city / district ride safety and inspection committee (CRSCI or DRSCI) which will provide their opinion on whether safety and maintenance protocols for licences were followed for amusement rides installed for periods exceeding three months.
Some other Rules mentioned are,
– No petrol / diesel generators unless fixed in fireproof compartment at least 20 feet from other buildings
– Operators must provide proof of credentials of safety certifying agency to city / district ride safety and inspection committee
– Structural stability certificate to be obtained from civil engineering department
– …..and many more rules are defined.
